South Sound Aspie Moms
A support group for parents of children with Aspergers and Autism in the South Puget Sound region. We want to be able to share our trials and triumphs with others who "get it". We believe in meeting our kids where they are and helping them to navigate our world from theirs.

Apologies and June Meeting
I'm so sorry for not posting anything the last few months. I'm back in full force, at least for the time being!
Our June meeting is being held on June 25th from 5:00-6:30 p.m. (times are firm as we have a room reserved) at the Round Table Pizza at N. 26th and Pearl in Tacoma. The room is under South Sound Aspie Moms. Click here for a map. We have the smaller of the two meeting rooms. As space in the room is somewhat limited, it will probably be best to leave the kids at home. The topic will be Gluten Free/Casein Free diet options for our kids, lead by Angela Fish. If you have specific questions, please e-mail us at southsoundaspiemoms@gmail.com and I'll pass them along to Angela. You can also post them on the event page on FB. Time will be limited. I hope we can get as many questions answered as possible.
Enjoy the start to your summer! I know I'm going to be enjoying mine!

March Meeting
Our March meeting will be this Saturday, March 19 at 3:30 p.m. at Kids at Play Therapy in Sumner. A link to a map and address is here. Although we love our kiddos, this meeting is for the parents to better understand sensory processing without worrying if their child is going to fall off a swing or eat a magnet. :) Thanks for leaving the kids with dad this time.
Notes, book titles, etc. from the February meeting will also be available at the meeting this month.
The newest link on our blog is for an organization in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota; Fraser. It serves children and adults with varying degrees of special needs, and provides all of the services that might possibly be needed from screening to treatment to schooling. The link here is to their "links" page. Some things are specific to MN, but some are excellent resources for anyone anywhere.

First Meeting - recap
Our first meeting was great! Five moms came and the conversation was lively and wonderful! We have moms of kiddos ranging from PreK-5th grade so far. We have determined we want to take some field trips, so look for those postings as we decide what and when. I will try to find a way to post links in a static place (so not in a post that will get pushed down over time).
